Valley of Peace welcomes new youth and family ministries director

Valley of Peace Lutheran Church welcomed Lisa Menschel as new staff member to its church family on Sept. 15. Menschel joins the church, located on Woodside Boulevard in Hailey, as Youth and Family Ministries Director.

“Lis brings a great deal of experience and enthusiasm to Valley of Peace,” said Pastor Jerry Reinke.

Menschel has nearly 15 years’ experience with Young Life, a non-denominational youth outreach ministry. Her ministry with Young Life spanned the country and included Minnesota, Montana, Idaho and Michigan.

Starting as a volunteer in her native Minnesota, she moved to part-time Ara Director for Young Life in the Wood River Valley before returning east with her family for three years. In 2018 she and her family returned to Hailey.

“My mission at Valley of Peace is to help the church provide activities for all ages while making disciples for Jesus Christ,” Menschel said. “Valley of Peace has a lot of charm. We want to be even more welcoming to young families.”

Lisa is married to Drew Menschel. They have a nine-month-old son named Cutler. She replaces Joel Ripke, who held the position for two years. Ripke and his wife, Nicole, moved east to pursue other ministry opportunities.
